ISSAC Medical Announces $10,000 Combination Product Award
ISSAC Medical Corporation has created the Issac Award for Innovation
(IAI Award) to recognize new advances in the field of silicone-based
combination products.
Silicone-based combination products eligible for IAI consideration are defined by the
FDA as: A product comprised of two or more regulated components,
i.e., drug/device, biologic/device, drug/biologic, or drug/device/biologic,
that are physically, chemically, or otherwise combined or mixed and
produced as a single entity.
The award program is open to university research departments and
companies employing less than 25 people. "There is amazing research
being conducted with combination products," says Mark Paulsen,
director of business development at ISSAC, "we want to encourage that,
and putting up a substantial cash prize was the best way to demonstrate
ISSACıs commitment to this field."
The Award carries a U.S. $10,000. cash prize.
ISSAC reports that initial response to the IAI award program has been robust.
The company expects a further escalation of entries from universities research
departments in September coinciding with the start of the school year.
More information and instructions to submit a product for award consideration
are available at: www.issacmedical.com/iai Deadline for entry is December 1, 2008. Winners will be announced to the
